We stand behind our products — and our loyal customers. That's why we're offering you the Castrol Engine Warranty. As you know, our products offer you the best in quality and engineering, so as long as you continue to protect your engine with Castrol, we'll continue to protect you.
Of course there are some limits and exclusions, so please have a look at the Terms and Conditions which provide the exact terms of the Castrol Engine Warranty. Some of the important things you need to know are:
1. We've got you covered.
If you've got a car with 1 million miles on it, we applaud you. However, we cannot cover you with this warranty. In order to qualify, your vehicle — whether it's a car, SUV, van or pickup — must weigh 10,000 pounds or less. It must be less than 6 years old and have less than 100,000 miles on it, so watch those cross-country road trips.
2. Make sure to change your oil.
It may seem like a no-brainer, but to maintain your warranty, you must change your oil regularly. Always follow your manufacturer's recommendation, including those around severe driving conditions. If you use Castrol GTX, you must change your oil every 4 months or 4,000 miles. If you use Castrol GTX High Mileage/Castrol Synthetic Blends, change it every 5 months or 5,000 miles. And if you use Castrol SYNTEC or Castrol EDGE, change your oil every 6 months or 6,000 miles. It's pretty simple.
3. Keep those receipts.
We love our customers. And really, we trust you. But our lawyers are another story, so be sure to keep all your oil change receipts, a copy of your registration, any statements of damage and copies of any repair orders, so that in the event you have a claim, you can ensure that it gets paid.
4. Everybody makes mistakes.
Our policy regarding mistakes is simple: We allow you one exception. If you forget to change your oil within 1,000 miles of when you were supposed to, it's okay — you're covered. But don't do it again.
There are some exclusions.
1. It's not a competition.
If your vehicle has been modified, soup'd up, or changed significantly for participation in competitions, races or demolition derbies, sorry — your vehicle cannot be covered.
2. Drive safely, and take care of your vehicle.
We don't cover claims that are the result of collisions, neglect, abuse, shoddy maintenance or contamination.
3. You can't double dip.
If your damage is already covered by your existing vehicle warranty, it will be applied before Castrol covers any claim.
4. No diesels.
Our Warranty program does not cover diesel engines that require API, CJ-4, CI-4 or any API C category oil.
5. It's not transferable.
Unfortunately, if you sell your vehicle, the warranty is not transferable. However, the lucky new owner can register for the warranty program too.
